1. The wavelength of sound waves from two speakers is 336.4cm long.
a) If a person were standing at the end of the wavelength, what would they hear? Explain.
b) What can be said about ∆?/? , the ratio of the path length difference from the two speakers compared to the wavelength of the speakers?
The aim of question is to check
your knowledge about interference of sound waves. Where
constructive and destructive interference occurs when two waves
from two speakers combines. It all depends on the path difference.
If path difference is integral multiple of lemda then constructive
interference occurs and volume of sound we hear is maximum and vice
versa.
