1. Who was the most supportive of Ludovic throughout the film?

2. Was it a good idea to take Ludovic to see a psychologist?

3. Which two scenes were the most difficult to watch?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer 1 Ludovic's grandmother seems unfazed by the fact that he is a girl trapped in a man's body. She even lets him dress up as a girl. She is the only one that understands him and lets him be who he is. Hence she is the most supportive of ludovic throughout the film.

Answer 2 No it was not a good idea to take ludovic to see a psychologist at least from the film's point of view because he was convinced that he was a girl and the psychologist would try and make him believe otherwise. Hence leaving him in a very confused state of mind after a brief period of time. He will be trapped between who he wants to be and who his parents, his neighbours and the society expects him to be.

Answer 3 .According to me, the two scenes that were the most difficult to watch were-

1 Where he is being beaten by his teammates after a soccer match for his identity crisis. Them hurling abuses at him.

2 the one where his mother is shaving his head. That scene is so well shot from the camera panning at the ground we see his fallen hair to the camera panning at Ludovic's face where he is crying. This scene is symbolic of stripping him from his identity as he felt like a girl because of his hair. The pain can be felt in Ludovic's eyes as he stands there crying.
