Expert Solution

1. Order is 7mg/kg/day. The patient weighs 60 lbs that is 27.21 kg. The dose to be divided every 6 hours.

Amoxicillin available solution is 12.5mg/5 ml. For 27.21 kg it is 190.47 mg/day. 47.62 mg for every 6 hours.

12.5 mg is for 5 ml hence 19.05 ml for every 6 hours. 76.18 ml for 24 hours.

2. Digoxin available dose is 0.15mg/1 ml. Dose to be administered is 0.025mg/kg/day. divided for 8 hours. The weight of the infant is 10 kg. 0.25 mg/ day to be administered for a day. For 8 hours, 0.08 mg for 8 hour.

0.25 mg for 24 hours, that is 1.67 ml for 24 hours and 0.55 ml for every 8hours.

4. 75 units of insulin 4 times a day. Available dose is 100 units/1.5 ml in a vial of 3 ml. Hence 1.125 ml is available fo 75 units. This has to be administered 4 times that is 4.5 ml. Each vial has 3 ml. So 1 and half vial ever day

3. Question 3 has the dose available for lidocaine but the dose to be administered is Cefaclor which is a cephalosporin. So kindly cross check the medication that has to be administered..
