Middle adulthood includes 45-65 years of age group people. They are usually settled and married. During this period, they are really firm regarding their perspective/principles. One of the reasons behind this could be the events they faced in different phases of life.

The ‘norm’ or ‘behavioral norm’ can be used simply to mean a common practice, what most people do in a particular context and it is expected to be followed. Some of the norms if not followed are punishable too.

Few of the norms are discussed here::

• Son biased: Usually parents invest low funds for girls’ education as they thought a girl will go to their home after marriage. So, it is worth investing in boys as they will stay in the parental home.
• Girl's future roles as wives and mothers: Most of the burden of household chores on women as this will improve their skills in the same.
• Inequality between boys and girls: Girls should limit their voice, boys can go a late night with no restrictions. Limits on girl's mobility and the high value placed on virginity before the marriage. While boys can express their sexuality and sexual curiosity.

Most of the age groups of middle adulthood usually follow what is practiced from many generations. He/she believes that the set of asset enforced by society are due to a specific reason and they must be followed. The behavior for inequality between boys and girls is even strongly recommended by them. However, most of these practices are getting vanish nowadays.
