How can exercise be beneficial during pregnancy? What impact can it have on the mother and the fetus? Discuss at least one situation where exercise could be harmful for the mother or fetus.
Now if I talk about pregnancy in United states of America, every year somewhere between 700 to 900 women die from a pregnancy related cause like high blood pressure, blood clots, shock, cardio-vascular diseases, haemorrhage etc. These condition can be reduced if we can improve maternal health care before, during and after pregnancy. Exercise during pregnancy can provide benefits to both mother and foetus. By exercise I did not mean running on a treadmill or exercise involving abdominal muscles or lifting weights. These all must be avoided because these are not healthy but could cause a serious complications in pregnancy. The exercise involving abdominal muscles could cause damage to the foetus and amniotic sac leading to complication life still birth, premature birth etc. By exercise I mean stretching on a flat surfaces, slow and steady jogging, swimming and low impact aerobics would be beneficial for the health of baby and mother. For mother it improves posture of body or reduces bodyaches, discomfort, digestion and gives a better sleep, energy, strength. It reducec the complication during pregnancy and improves the health of mother. Research prove that exercise provide less body fat, gives better heart health and provides a good brain health to the babies.
