2. What is one criticism to Bronfenbrenner’s model? Provide an example where this criticism can be applied with one of your clients from field. If you don’t have any assigned clients yet, use a hypothetical case or situation as an example.
ANSWER
The ecological theory was proposed by Brenfenbrunner to determine
how the internal traits of children interact with the environment
and influenced their development. This theory explains the
importance of learning children in a different and varied
environment. This theory explains the development of children in a
different context. This is called an ecological system theory.
According to ecological theory, children are enclosed with
different eco systems that helps them in their development. These
ecological systems could be home, family, friends, neighbor,
school, etc. The society and culture are the most important and
larger ecosystems that play a great role in the development of
children. These all ecosystems are internally connected and
influenced each other. This model has five stages.
This theory was developed by Bronfenbrenner in 1979 and the most influential theory that fascinated by most of the psychologist. It is also an important theory and as well as the foundation if the other theory. This theory explains the personal development in an ecosystem and it influenced their environment.
