What disease other than HIV/AIDS is stigmatized in U.S. society? Which individuals are affected by this classification?
INTRODUCTION :- Stigmatized refers to such a condition in which either an individual or a thing is being categorized on certain thoughts,which does not have any specific reasoning,and such things or people are generally not provided with utmost respect,which is normally given to others.It is not limited with certain things or people,rather few disease are as well stigmatized,and the person suffering from it suffers the indifferent behavior of society due to their perception regarding those diseases and thus making their life even more difficult.
WHAT DISEASE OTHER THAN HIV\AIDS IS STIGMATIZED IN U.,S. SOCIETY?
Diseases other than HIV\AIDS which are being stigmatized in the U.S.society are any such disorders which are being related with the mental condition of an individual.It is one of the most common form of stigma that is being attach with the disease.The person suffering from it,has to go through various different perception and behavior of people resulting from the kind of stigma they hold for such disorders.Mostly,the people are not viewed as patients suffering from any such mental condition,because they themselves are not aware of any such criteria of disease,yet on the basis of their own thoughts,they consider these people different and attach some name or stigma towards them.The people with disorder are generally lowly and even at several occasion,others avoid being with them.
Apart from such disorder,the disease which are being related with the skin is also being stigmatized in the U.S. society.Person suffering from any such condition where their skin has some or the other issue faces the stigma of others,and not being treated well by others,thus making this disease stigmatized as well.
WHICH INDIVIDUALS ARE BEING AFFECTED BY THIS CLASSIFICATION?
Stigmatized disease not only just affect the person who is being dealing with it,rather it also includes those person,who are connected with these people are also equally affected by any such classification.It is so because,the people who are being suffering from disease are already have some severe issues related to disease to deal with,but adding this stigma enhances their trouble to a greater extent.Apart from this,due the this classification they are generally neglected from having fair share in society,so considering all these facts,when the individual faces all such negative things,they will feel more troublesome,and its impact can be clearly seen in their behavior,which further eventually impact those who people who are close to them.As such we can conclude that,the individuals who is actually suffering from the disease,and along with them those who are closely related to them such as family and also friends,are being affected by this classification.
