What is your position regarding the advantages of IoT integration toward business competitive advantage?

The Internet of Things (IoT) usefulness has not only benefited people but also attracted a large number of business enterprises and organizations. Big businesses, along with technology, are emerging with new concepts on practically every aspect of how the world runs. Internet of Things (IoT) is about an extensive network of interconnected devices that share data on people and how they interact with things. Businesses will be able to gain supervisory control and data collection in real time from remote locations to control equipment and conditions (TecTarget, 2019, para 10). I feel like the Internet of Things (IoT) concerning business's competitive advantage provides opportunities and potential risks. The Internet of Things (IoT) application is helpful in terms of immediate improvement, for example, function/production, maintenance, and customer satisfaction are the pillars of business performance. Connected machines share data that can minimize disruptive downtime and safety gear equipped with IoT technology has the potential to reduce employee injuries. (IoT) Offers real-time training to employees, which helps them establish better coordination with clients so as to reduce mismatching of skills. Potential risks are as technology evolves, the reliability may not be proven, which can compromise the quality of a finished product. Also, the incorporation of IoT technology in manufacturing equipment may expose employees to unintended risks.

Are you for or against continuous integration directions of IoT solutions?

I am all for the continuous integration of IoT solutions to a certain point, like the Internet of Things (IoT) would be great in situations that involve medical emergencies, as mention by Benson in the TEDx event video. More so, if the devices provide feedback that can inform decisions, change behavior, teach skills, help prevent injuries, and potentially save lives. Nevertheless, I am against the continuous integration of IoT solutions when it enables humans to be lazy individuals. Sometimes, businesses are just creating products to solve problems that do not exist. Using a useful product that was designed decades is not a bad thing if the product still does the job reliably, safely, and without much thought.
