36. Explain what the technique known as soft state is and how it applies to ARP and the ARP cache.
soft state is state which is useful for efficiency, but not essential.
It is a term that is used for information that times out (goes away) unless refreshed, which allows protocols to recover from errors in certain services
In ARP [address resolution prtocol] if the communication is not happening since long time then remove their MAC address from the table and keep space for new coming communication device addresses.

SO ARP TABLE ENTRIES ARE UPDATED AND IT KEEP INCREASING IF COMMUNICATION GOES ON AND ON
