Do you think that a clinician socio-demographic characteristic such as: age, gender, religion, ethnic background, nationality, will have an influence on following or not the clinical practice guidelines?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Yes. Socio demographic characteristics influence following clical practice guidelines.

  • Religion has a major role in not following clinical practice guidelines. For example abortion is allowed in some country. But Christianity strictly prohibits abortion. So a Christian physician will have restriction in following clinical practice guidelines.
  • Ethinic background. In some ethiinic group shaving head is not allowed till age of 18. So clinician from this background may take this fact into consideration while following clinical practice guidelines.
  • In some ethiinic group certain good is restricted. So clinician with such restriction will be unfollowing clinical practice guidelines.
  • Nationality. In some nations reveling a fetus's sex is allowed but in some country it's a crime. So different nations will have different rules which makes clinician to make changes or unfollowing the clinical practice guidelines.
  • Clinicians age and gender does not affect much in following or unfollow of the clinical practice guidelines.
