A SMART strategic objective are the objective which is specific,measurable, achievable, realistic and timely. The objectives are those statement which the individual, group or organization aim to achieve. There are eleven strategic objective for St Jude hospital which is for set for six years i.e 2016-2021.

  • Our clinical care priorities includes
  1. 20% increase in number of patients treated in the hospital to enhance the cure with minimal therapy-related toxicities by the year 2021.
  2. Set a standard for pediatric care.The patient deserves the best treatment in a caring environment.
  3. Advance our clinic care program for children with non-malignant cancer so that our hospital becomes the center of choice. This will include children with sickle cell disease, coagulation disorder, bone marrow failure syndrome.
  • Our global leadership position
  1. Expand our international outreach program so that cures for pediatric cancers are available worldwide with knowledge, support and leadership to continuously improve the level of care.
  2. To develop a St.Jude hospital funded clinical research laboratory where therapeutic trials for pediatric cancer , non malignant hematological diseases and life threatening disorders can be done.
  3. Construct a global team of scientists who will collectively address high priority scientific questions of pediatric disease. It will allow to fill the knowledge gap which is essential for slow progression of pediatric cancer and other pediatric catastrophic diseases.
  • Our research programs
  1. Aiming at strengthing our basic research laboratory. For this hospital will increase the number of its faculty dedicated for research works and improve its infrastructure that support laboratory research.
  2. Enhancing our clinical research program so that more complex protocols can be run as research and clinical care is a continous process.
  3. Establish a benchmark for use of precision medicine in pediatric oncology and to identify those patients who may benefit from cancer surviellance program.
  4. Determine optimal use of beam therapy in treatment of patients with pediatric cancer.
  5. Establish a world class cancer immunotherapy program, a national referral clinic for rare pediatric cancers. This program will also establish work up of all children expected of having hereditary predisposition to cancer.
