Answer 1.
The Pax Romana which means "Roman Peace" in Latin, was a long period of relative peace and stability experienced by the Roman Empire between the reign of Caesar Augustus, founder of the Roman principate, and the death of Marcus Aurelius, last of the "good emperors". The Roman empire achieved its greatest territorial extent and its population reached a maximum of up to 70 million people during This period.
Historians are of the view that the success of the Roman Empire during this era was a result of the policies of the Roman emperors themselves. prior to it there had never been peace for so many centuries in a given period of history. However, with the conquest of the thrown by Octavian, which also marked the beginning of Pax Roman era, there emerged the practice of organising greatest military magnates and these loose military factions added to the image of as the Emperors as the front man. By binding together these leading magnates in a coalition, the Roman emperors eliminated the prospect of civil war, making peace an acceptable mode of life for the Romans, who had been at war with one power or another continuously for 200 years.
