The WHO has identified 3 major trends that are pushing the need for healthcare reform globally. What are these trends and what needs to be done to address them? (500 words)
The three major trends that are pushing the need for healthcare reform globally are as follows -
1-) Using orthodox means of recording patients past medical records and interpreting them through naked eye . - The trends which was followed by many decades is that patients past medical records where all done manually and it was available at the right time. The doctors were unable to treat the patients without having full knowledge of the records and wrong interpretation of data may result in improper practice by doctors. So to address this, artificial intelligence has to be incorporated where the data is recorded in cloud based systems and the artificial intelligence can give suggestions to doctors in those cases and what to do at the right moment. Their should be a national data system where every record of data can be listed and hospitals could access them during emergencies.
2-) Obesity - In healthcare , almost 75% of the western countries are obese and this has been a major trend in health care. Junk food , and sugar beverages have contributed to this a lot and it has been a trend to visit these places . Obesity also welcom other heart disease, digestive disorders etc. To address, WHO has initiated many programs such as yoga , diet control etc. To counterattack this problem, people have to minimise the consumption of junk food and should eat more organic food.
3-) Hygiene maintenance - This is a very critical issue that is their in most of the developing and under developed countries where Hygiene is a big factor and can lead to spread of many disease such as covid 19. The only way to address this is to implement proper Hygiene methods like use of sanitizers , handwash, proper strelized tools , regular washing etc.
