in P2P, each peer only upload chunks to a limited number of peers? Why is the Bit torrent designed in such a way?
The p2P is defined as peer to peer network, peer to peer each node is connected for faster data transfer. In terms of the torrent, a group of computers downloading and uploading are known as a swarm, here there is no need for a central server, as torrent works based on peers. Here each peer only uploads a chunk of data this is because torrent has no central entity to monitor so to make the speed of upload and download fast among the peers each peer just uploads a chunk of data. For example, if thousands of people are downloading the same file then each peer contributes to bandwidth by uploading a chunk so that the torrent remains fast.
The Bit Torrent is also a torrent so it also has a swarm that is a
group of people uploading /downloading. As bit torrent being a
torrent multiple people can upload or download a file so more
people contribute to upload a file this is referred to as seeders,
if there is no seeder then download is not possible.
So, being a torrent a bit torrent also has a swarm of peers where
each peer upload chunk of data to maintain the bandwidth of the
network, and also the torrent remains fast enough for every
user.
