You may use examples from different settings such as from your academic studies, from work, from your personal life. Choose examples that allow you to apply both basic/individual and team decision making concepts covered in our course materials. Are there methods of decision making that you find are more common during the current period when our lives are affected by the developing COVID-19 situation? Decision 1 (Individual-based) :

There were a lot of instances where I need to make a reliable decision making in my life. Some situations made the decision making a tough one while some scenarios didn't demand a high-level decision making skill. But one of the decisions I have in the past month is to decide to pursue my dream of learning violin lessons putting apart all my busy life schedules. It was a tough decision to make as I need to allot and prioritize day to day activities and include the violin lessons into it. I need to tackle all my studies within a short span of time in a day and leave the rest of some hours for learning violin lessons. I also dedicated my holidays to learn violin lessons as I felt that, going behind our passion is something so beautiful that cant be expressed.....and that i have made the right decision ever.

Decision 2 (team-based) :

Another kind of decision I have taken was based on a team where everyone in the team after an intense thinking and discussion came to a good conclusion. It happened just recently during the sudden outspread of pandemic called COVID-19 where one of the friends in our close friendship circle was approaching her birthday and as always, this time, we couldn't celebrate due to the quarantine. We together sat online through a video conference and decided that we should never breaking the rules of quarantine and instead do something creative online. We came up with the decision that we will wish her at sharp 12 am through a group call and asked her to donate some money to some charity organization instead of treating us with other unnecessary items especially during this time of awareness. All these decisions were finalized after we, as a team had a very long decision-making process and hence came up with a very productive decision ever.

According to me, I think a common pattern that is seen based on taking decision making during this COVID -19 scenario is that usually, a command form of decision making is happening from the higher authorities of our country where there are more commands than votes or other peoples involvement and the major commands are based on certain precautions and rules we need to consider for avoiding the spread of coronavirus. Example: Avoid going out for unnecessary reasons, wash our hands often, etc.

Another similar pattern that I have noticed based on the decision making during this pandemic is exactly what we as a team had done (as mentioned above): Taking decisions online where it could be a video conferencing , group audio call. Whatever it is, the decisions are taken without no one seeing each other.

Hence the answer.
