For a role of nursing, there important ethical values are
1-Human dignity or humanitarian values are those values where human
relations and the humanity is kept at highest priority. Treating
the patient with love and care, respecting their rights etc are
some of these values.
2-privacy- A nurse is the one wh knows all the details of patients
including those which are known only to the person and not even his
parents and other family members. If this privacy is not kept
confidential, it may lead to erosion of trust of patients and in
future they may not provide the accurate information that may lead
to compromised healthcare intervention.
3-precision accuracy in caring, The role of nursing involves
injecting and orally giving critical medicines whose dose are
prescribed precisely. Any compromise on this may lead to hazardous
effect , even in death of patient.
Confidentiality vignette of keeping the patient info confidential
poses problems most of the times for nurses. A nurse has to keep in
mind the the values of human dignity and privacy to keep the human
rights and their privacies a top. It is also necessary for the
profession and not only for the patient.
