How was nursing enhanced by the use of evidence-based practice in these stories?

Evidence based practice is based on research and past experiences which improve nursing for betterment of healthcare systems. Nursing is also a technical education and this education can only be enhance through innovations and innovations requires past data and evidences by whom it can be further development in high quality care,cost reduction and patient's satisfaction. In the evidence based nursing we should have change our previous old running standards with the modern standards. The evidence based practice is method how we can change through communication, opinions and comparison over time.

For example a BRAT diet for a particular gastro patient is not recommended nowadays this standard is changed with well balanced diet. Because past data and evidences from records show BRAT diet is not so much nutritious for that fisesed patient.

It is same on medications, from past we may use a particular medicine for a particular disease which can create complications but if we have improved and combined medications available nowadays then we might change the old medication procedure with new medications with reduced complications.

Use of dress code of healthcare professional is also show how evidence based practice works.

Use of five A in evidence based practice enhance the quality in healthcare systems. These 5 A's are Ask,Acquire,Appraise,Apply and Assess.

The three components of Evidence based practice in nursing are in below mentioned equation:

EBP=Research+Clinical Expertise+ Patient preference.

How did these stories influence you in the use of evidence-based practice?

The past makes our present. When a child grow several times he falls on the floor and standup. These falls taught the child to grow to be strong. This strongness is the result of influences of that falls. These are the experiences which influence our present and future.

These stories are the collection of data research which make us able to understand the problems. Evidence based practice transforme overall healthcare industry to become more patient centric. Which is best for society. That makes us able to solve these problems so that in future we refrain from that problems and to improve outcomes. These stories reminds us to mend new ways.

The evidence based practice stories refine our decision making in nursing. Positive attitude and skill development in nursing increasing and reducing the barriers and problems employed in practicing through EBP.
