This requires the nurses to have syrong foundation. Nursing history, theories, caring, and evidence-based practice helps nurse achiene a strong base and serve the patients in best possible way.
Nursing history involves how the idea of nursing originated, how the need for nurses arise and when the nurses start practicing in health care system. The history also tells us about basic goals and aims of nursing profession. It also helps nurses understand how the nursing profession has evolved over years and about the scope of nursing.

The nursing theories consists of concepts that are well organized and categorised to offer a systemic view of the nursing profession. These theories guides the nurses to construct an appropriate patient assessment, evaluation and interventions. Nursing theories provide a structural framework for nursing practice as well as research.
