Solutions

Expert Solution

Q1;

Favoring Argument

A Job Advertisement that generates 1000 responses is always better and desirable than the one that gets twenty responses because when an organization gets a large number of applications then it only means that an organization has the luxury of selecting the best possible candidates from the large pool of candidate which then translates into a best human resources available. Also, when an organization gets more applications, it only means that Job advertisement was sound enough to relate with people.

Against Argument

A job advertisement that gets more than responses than desired is not always because many times it makes the whole process very redundant as the talent acquisition team or recruitment team has to go through 1000 different applications which becomes cumbersome to the organization. It also places a burden on the resources of an organization because it has in order to screen many responses which makes the process very time consuming and involves a great deal of cost considerations. Selection has always been considered to be a negative process because it leads to the elimination of the many potential candidates as the organization finds it hectic to cater to all applications.

Q2; I agree because of the following reasons;

  1. Promote from within policy boosts employee morale of both tenured employees as well as those who are about to join or have joined recently as they get an idea of how this organization has a strong growth plan for its employees.
  2. Talent acquisition costs incurred by an organization to find some external employees come up with a great deal of expenditure which can be avoided if we use Promote-from-within-policy.
  3. The learning curve of the employees who get internally promoted is really short because they have an idea of how an organization is working, what is the culture, relationships, reporting and also the mission and vision.
  4. Supplements employee retention; Promote-from-within-policy always makes employees stay in the organization and contribute to the growth as employees feel that they have shared purpose wherein the organization's growth is correlated with my growth and promotion and if the company grows, I will also get promoted.
