Thinking about the current outbreak situation with COVID-19 and parallels with Yellow Fever Outbreaks in Paraguay.
What are our thoughts on when vaccination may become available to the general public and if a massive vaccination program will get established worldwide?
The discovery of the new vaccine is the only way to fight and prevent this pandemic disease. Normally a vaccine can come in to humans usage only after a long research period of approximately 10- 18years .It is classified and into five stages (the discovery research period takes about 2-5years where more than 100vaccines cones under research ) In the second stage it is the prettiest clinical stage nearly 20 vaccines will be under research .In the third stage(clinical developmental) it is categorized into three phases namely phase 1 ,assessing it is safe or not .In phase 2, the immune response of the host is monitored ,In phase 3,its protection is monitored .The entire stage takes place for about 5-9years. In stage 4 The vaccine is reviewed and approved by the FDA and WHO. Then in fifth stage it is processed to manufacturing unit followed by distribution .
But this is not possible in case of this pandemic. Even though if the research happens for these many years can cost the lives of entire population in the world. Do it is a emergecy situation to cut short these stages and bring a vaccine in a very minimal tine period of 1-2 years under the minimal risk.
The current situation enacts that the vaccines could be probably in its completion stage and it could be at least available to the population by the beginning of next year. As certain vaccine has shown 90% of its effectiveness in controlling and preventing this infectious disease .
