He is performing well in school, but his behavior is distracting others. Charlie isn't hyperactive like this at home, but his mother is concerned. His mother wants you to prescribe him Xanax for anxiety and Adderall for ADHD. After you do an extensive interview with Charlie, you realize that he is just bored in his U.S History class and would rather be playing basketball in P.E. However, Charlie's mother insists that you write a few prescriptions. Research suggests that medical professionals (Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistant's, etc.) are often pressured to write prescriptions even when they don't believe that it is the best thing to do for the patient. Your investigation has led you to believe that Charlie just needs more physical exercise. But his mother continues to insist that Charlieneeds medication. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is a mental health disorder and ADHD is caused by impulsive behaviour and above the normal level of hyperactive which is commonly misdiagnosed, especially in young children in such cases taking medication can be harmful to the children because the medication has some side effects may be the children faces few effects of medication like Constipation, Headache, Skin rash or dermatitis and etc for taking medication for an issue that a child doesn't have. Xanax is used to treat anxiety disorder and panic disorder and this medicine is can make patients feel calmer and more relax so charlie doesn't need any Xanax medicine because he does not have anxiety disorder and by taking Xanax charlie may faces memory problem, sleep problems and tiredness. Adderall is used to treat for improving patients attention, stay alert,concentrate and avoid impulsive and hyperactive behaviours but charlie doesn't have Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD) disorder and by taking Adderall medicine charie may faces few side effects like Abdominal pain,Heart disease and Dizziness. according to the Cognitive Developmental Theory charlie needs to focus on physical exercise.
