Describe the key features of Impacts caused by health interventions (Iatrogenic) causing diseases (hint: what do they actually do to human beings?)

Solutions

Expert Solution

Iatrogenic infections or disease: It refers to the medical condition caused by the diagnosis, medical examination or the treatment of a disease. This kind of the medical intervention side effects diseases, which are comes due to doctors or due to the carelessness of doctors. These are unintended or unwanted medical conditioned diseases.

For example, tissue damage due to radiation therapy, Cushing’s syndrome, risks of surgery, side effects of drugs, etc.

If the rate of iatrogenic diseases is constant and health production is subject to diminishing returns then the production of health function would eventually turn downwards. Consider the example of multiple surgeries, where first surgery improves the health status by 5 amts wall risks of surgery at 4 units. Next surgery improves the health status by only 3 units because health production is subject to diminishing returns and risk of surgery is still 4 units.
