Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple was one of the most influential business leaders and he knew how to make major decisions. Yet does that mean he'll always make the right decision? No, but he still picked up, learned from his failures, and tried again which for many entrepreneurial this can also be the core challenge.
Here's a look at some of Jobs's great decisions that were not only sound but revolutionary.
He believes in connecting the dots looking them backward not forward, which he believes has made all the difference.
He takes decisions with confidence and resolves it without feeling forced.
He admitted that he didn't know everything.
When Apple fired jobs, he was could have taken the money he earned from his stock and do what other businessmen did but instead, he started off with a new computer business, NeXT, that represented even more of what he had learned from Xerox PARC.
What was more significant was the fact that Jobs did not give up. Starting from scratch again is difficult, but at times it is the only way to move forward. And while NeXT wasn't a financial success, it was highly influential and it shaped what would become the future Macs operating system.
One of the most significant decisions Jobs has ever made was to promote Jonathan I ve from nowhere to lead the industrial design division of the company.
In the personal computing space, Apple was fighting a losing battle with Microsoft. Steve noticed that Microsoft could not beat in Computer space and described personal media and networking as being where APPLE could extend itself. It has led the company to invest in iPod which has been an instant success. That was one crucial decision that helped reinvent APPLE itself.
Yes, I totally agree with how he had taken decisions as he was a brilliant entrepreneur with an incredible visionary. He had thoughts on making mistakes, following the instincts, and using the limited time of life to the fullest.
What we can learn from him:-
When you're in the middle of a difficult situation, or you're uncertain about your path, it's important to have faith that all will eventually connect.
If your goal is to please everybody, you are always going to fall short and never going to make everybody happy. Listening to the opinions of others about your life can be very frustrating and it is important not to let the assumptions of others about your hopes and aspirations overwhelm your hope.
Move yourself forward. Stay ready to learn, take chances, and try to carry on doing what others say can't do.
The worst possible thing could turn out to be the best thing that could happen.
Be patient enough to admit when there are mistakes and move on to the next idea.
