Expert Solution

Various error correction techniques for incorrect perception are as follows :-

1) Covert techniques :-

Covert technique of correction includes restating the receiver's statement by putting more emphasis on the word that has to be corrected.

a) Elicitation -

The sender repeats part of the recievers sentence by using a rising tone to signal the receiver that he should complete the remaining sentence. For example the sender might say that "honesty is the "and expects the receiver to to complete the sentence by saying " best policy" as it is commonly known statement.

b) Recasting aur reformulation :-

In this case the sender incorporates the content words of the immediately preceding incorrect sentence and changes and correct the utterance in some way . For example correcting the statement by using the correct preposition.

c) Clarification:-

In this case the sender clearly indicates the receiver that he or she has not understood what the receiver has said .For example asking the receiver with correct words that whether he has received the message or not.

d) Delayed correction:-

In this case the sender hear's the errors and comment on it when the receiver has completed his statement.

2) Overt techniques :-

Overt technique are those techniques where the receiver is corrected directly by the sender through some kind of explanation of what error has been occurred.

a) Explicit correction :-

The sender indicates the error that has been committed by the receiver by timely identification of the error and providing the correction to the error .For example the sender may repeat the receiver's sentence after correcting it so that the receiver understands what mistake has been committed by him.

A recent study in the Journal of Consumer Research suggests that appetite stimuli can make people more impatient in unrelated areas. Participants in the study, all college students, were asked to serve as photo editors for a magazine. Half were randomly selected to view appetite-stimulating pictures of desserts, and the other half viewed non-appetite-stimulating nature pictures. Then the participants were offered a choice between an apartment with a great view and an apartment close to work. The apartment with a...
