Corona Extra is a top-selling light beer manufactured by Cervecería Modelo in Mexico and possessed by Anheuser-Busch InBev in Belgium. In 1981, Corona Extra Beer was introduced in the US market and since 1998 it grew rapidly to become the No.1 exported beer to over 120 countries.
In the United States, the sales of this beer have grown 5% for the month till 16th February, which is almost twice the past 52 weeks trend. The business is highly reliant on the US market, unlike its competitors.
The top ten competitors are Budweiser, SABMiller, FEMSA, Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma, Diageo, Coors, Miller, Bacardi, Altria, and Veuve Clicquot. Anheuser-Busch InBev holds 45%, Miller Brew 25%, Coors 10%, and others 20% of the US market share. Corona holds 63% and Femsa 37% of Mexico’s market share.
