Subacute care is a relatively new but rapidly growing medical service in the continuum of care. Today, it is considered the fastest growing segment of the health care delivery system.

skilled nursing facilities are regulated by the Department of Health and covered by Medicare but not nusing homes.
Nursing facilities includes registered nurses,medical directors,licensed physical therapists,speech language pathologists and audiologists.
Nursing homes only provide care for daily activities like in and out of bed,meals,bathing ,dressing and elimination needs.
