2. List three negative cues in your work or school environment that encourage your undesirable behaviors AND identify ways you can reduce or eliminate these cues from your environment. Write about 250 words.

Part A) Here are the three negative cues at my work:

1. Authority & rigidity by senior leaders and managers. This leads to a decrease in aspirational behaviour and I tend to dis-obey most of the commands.
2. The communication channel between the department is poor leading to poor synergy and less team & personal efficiency overall.
3. Lack of innovation culture leading to lethargy and lack of ideas in the organisation. I tend to spend time on unproductive things that are offering less space to learn.

Part B) Here is how all three can be reduced or removed from the system:

For the authority and rigidity aspect I feel that these factors can help reduce or solve it further:

• It is important to focus on building a positive work culture where employees and their opinions are valued.
• The workplace must offer equal opportunities for development and growth. Team members should be allowed to question leaders & managers.
• The decisions an behaviour of management and leadership should be consistent and participative.

This leads to less stressful environment & I can focus on contributing more to the team than being engaged with unimportant tasks. I can voice my opinion and share the concerns with my leader/ manager with the benefits for the same.

For the communication issue:

• The channels must be well defined with clear accountability and synergy areas.
• The team & department should be designed in a scientific manner and communication lines & hierarchy should be well defined.
• The atmosphere of collaboration and group sharing should be encouraged.

This will help me to build team synergy and contribute / feedback effectively. This will also help in the learning process and make the progress happen. It will increase my overall efficiency.

I will set a structure in place so that communication from my team becomes an example for others.This should help to create a system and hence it will reduce or eliminate if accepted.

For the lack of innovation culture:

• Idea sharing should be promoted.
• The customer and employee feedback should be heard and steps must be taken by senior management iff some changes make sense and in a positive direction.
• The energies of the team become positive when the atmosphere promotes collaboration.

If I see such a culture I will be more participative and add to my reading and research skills so that I bring new ideas, mindset and thoughts to the table.
