Discuss insulin resistance in terms of what it means, factors that contribute to it, and things that can be done to reduce the problem.
Ans: Insulin are the enzymes that are secreted from beta cell of pancreas which regulates the blood glucose level in the body. Insulin resistance happen when the cell present in the carbohydrates, liver, and muscle do not reponse or start ignoring to these insulin secreted by pancreas. This results in obstruction for the cells to extract glucose from blood for the requirement of energy for body. This less response or unable to respond creates a pancreas organ to start producing more insulin to be able to make up the situation. However over the time this excess production of insulin from pancreas creates a level up for the blood sugar in the body. This phenomenon is described as insulin resistance.
There are several factors that contribute towards the insulin resistance like ageing of a person, genetic problem and ethincity. Moreover, there are also the driving factors of a body that tend to development of insulin resistance like over weight, less physical exercise, skipping of sleeping, smoking, high blood pressure. Over the time this occurrence of insulin resistance start problem for liver and heart of a body.
However there are measures that can minimise the sensitivity of insulin resistance. Regular exercise and loss of extra weight from a body can reduce the sensitivity of insulin resistance. Also it is directed to eat healthy food with regular exercise to maintain the level of insulin resistance. It is important to maintain a healthy life if anyone is affected by insulin resistance because over the high level of insulin resistance it can directly cause functioning problem for the other organs such as heart and kidney which plays vital roles in a body. The rise in level of insulin resistance also direct to have a chance of prediabetic and after that type 2 diabetes patient.
