Evaluate the importance of trustworthy leadership and trusting followers in effectively managing the Covid Crisis.
People look to leaders that their decisions and acts are calm and deliberate. Leaders who respond in highly emotional ways to stressful events may contribute to stress and anxiety in people. Leaders should first calm down, take stock of their tension and consider what triggers an emotional reaction. Even when faced with the demands of a high-profile crisis, leaders must take breaks to reset and refocus. Until the COVID-19 pandemic most of the workers did not trust their leadership
Indeed, the Coronavirus epidemic is a true indicator of how our political leaders are handling the situation. Leadership is all about obedience. The Coronavirus crisis shows the types of leaders we trust and are willing to follow, and we are not others. It also shows the degree of collegiality and obedience. The Coronavirus crisis reveals how the state handles the delicate balance between achieving successful results (evitating high mortality rates) and intruding into personal privacy
How much politicians support fundamental democratic principles, and what's allowed in the midst of a health crisis. The crisis in the Coronavirus reveals the various facets of good and bad governance. At the social level, the Coronavirus epidemic was a real test for ideals such as fraternity, voluntarism and other valued ideals that are desperately needed in times of crisis.
The values the leader instills are at the heart of society as well as of the organization. Actually we claim that society is nothing but common beliefs. During our education our values are acquired, and become our invisible guides. They determine the path for our interests, acts and behaviour. Nonetheless we should not forget that principles are contextual. In different ways, the same concept can have conflicting meanings. For example, "love" is considered a very important value for some people (though we believe it is more a necessity).
Nevertheless possession in the name of love can be manifested. It can be highly negative and even dangerous and have nothing in common with the idea of unconditional love. Blind trust can also be a formula for disaster. History is brimming with examples of people blindly trusting a leader. We must be careful because we are good at fooling ourselves.
