You have a 20 year old female who has been diagnosed with hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia. Based on a current evidence-based guidelines discuss what type treatment you would prescribe. Include any education you might provide. What kind of monitoring will be needed for this patient? Hypercholesterolemia is also called high in cholesterol level .high cholesterol can limit blood flow, increasing the risk of heart attack or stroke. It is detected by lab blood level values  

the treatments include medication, a healthy diet, and exercise

hypertriglyceridemia denotes high levels of triglycerides, the most abundant fatty molecule in most organisms. Elevated of triglycerides are associated with atherosclerosis and predispose to cardiovascular disease.

A high level of a certain type of fat in the blood, elevated triglycerides may contribute to pancreatitis or hardening of the arteries. this increases the risk of stroke heart attack and heart diseases

cholesterol and triglycerides respond to the same medical interventions, In the general first thing to do is to educate the client about lifestyle modifications daily exercise, to follow a well-balanced diet, weight reduction, and to avoid alcohol and cessation of smoking if using. and the diet includes getting the majority of daily food calories from plant sources, especially fruits and vegetables, grains, beans, nuts, and seeds, having some low-fat cheese and yogurt daily, eating fish at least a couple of times per week, limiting processed food  

Always maintain BMI, and laboratory monitoring of triglycerides monthly

watch for any kind of heart disease, diabetes

There are 5 different types of cholesterol-lowering medication, however, statin drugs are the best choice to reduce cholesterol and triglycrides

Statin are also called HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors . they include lovastatin , simvastatin , pravastatin, fluvastatin, atorvastain and rosuvastatin .

Statins do much more than lowering the ldl cholestrol , they lower risk of developing hardening of the arteries and reduce the chance of heart attack or stroke

the dis adavntage client with coronary artery desease cannot tollerate statins due to the side effects and can be overruled by administering omega3 along with statins .
