Reason: One of the advantages that globalization brought was opening up the avenues, for the company, in different parts of the world. Take an example of any major or minor IT company. It has set up offices in India,China etc.The reason for opening offices in different countries provided them with cheaper talent. The companies got less costly and eduacated and talented manpower.

Take another example of textile sector, US imports a lot from Taiwan,China and India. There are fortune 500 companies who all have outsourced their works offshore to take advantage of cheap labour and quality products.

40. True

Reason: Statistical process and tools provide the management with clear cut, if not accurate precision based, results.

Let us take an example, a manufacturing company which manufactures tools will produce a lot in a given time frame which used to take a lot of time and manpower that too a talented and educated one to find fault. Then after finding fault, the product has to be discarded which is a waste of money and time. a statistical process and tool gives the management an opportunity to save on wastage thus saving time and money and increasing productivity.

The statistical process and tool gives the management information prior to starting the manufacturing process. The probability and deviation from what needs to be manufactured becomes handy to correct the system.

44. True

Reason: It is not only the price opportunism that is worrisome but any unfortunate incident like fire or natural disaster will stop the supply chain and will be a big loss for the buyer.

Yes, it is true that single supplier may lead to future price opportunism because the supplier will have the bargaining power and may use delay tactics or any unethical ways to coerce or blackmail the manufacturer or buyer to buy at a higher price or any price that the supplier wants to sell at. The situation where the demand is high for the product the supplier may look for another buyer to sell to.

Thus it is a bad strategy to stick to one supplier.

47. True

Reason: A Gantt chart displays the progress of project with respect to time. it is a graphical representation in form of bars. Let us take an example, a project will have different aspects to be seen and completed and most of the tasks are dependent of some tasks that need to be completed or equally move on. If a house is being built then builder needs materials and manpower. He has a time frame and the owner wants the report thus the builder has to plan according to the manpower and material and has to use them simultaneously to plan things ot for construction. The builder may think of building pillar as well as boundary wall. Both the work is dependent on each other as the boundary will serve as a wall to stop trespassing and the pillar in the meantime will build foundation.
