discuss why they have developed separately given the historical context.
What is the potential value-added knowledge generated by integrating these systems
Ans.
Many companies find silos among different departments and
functions. Historically the basic principles of creating clear
objective of different functions but ensuring everyone objectives
are aligned to key vision and goal of the organization and
empowering them adequately has not worked well for clinical and
business functions.
Many companies have used many techniques like Lean , Six Sigma or
other methodologies to improve the integrations however these
processed have given results on ly on the paper . In reality the
true integrations benefits have not been visible
May times the clinical functions role include innovation and
research and development. And the investments done many times turn
out to be sunk cost or they may have very long gestation period.
Whereas in other functions of the business like finance , legal ,
contracts, marketing etc., the thought process of team members may
be different and they are used to seeing quick results for their
efforts and may not appreciate all the time the gap between two
functions.
Integration will help a long way in the enhancing the potential
value-added knowledge by promoting innovation, transformation ,new
products launch, improvement in product vitality and better results
for the organization .
