How does process evaluation and continuous improvement effect project management and the critical path? Apply "Real-World" examples you may have experienced.
Solution:
Critical path is the longest path in any network. By longest we mean the duration wise. This mean the criticalpath and all the activities that fall on the critical path are crucial because they take the lonest time to complete and hence the project delivery time is dependent on the critical path duration. HEnce, any delay in the critical path can result in delay in project completiton. THis is why every project managers works to ensure that the the critical path activities are not impacted because of internal or external factors affecting the project delivery time.
This is why project managers constantly monitor and evaluate the progress of the project to ensure that we are moving in the porject as per the planned acitivities and strategy. This will ensure that project gets delivered on time because of avoidance of any redundant activities causing delays. Hence, this is the reason for constant monitoring and evaluation of the project progress by the project managers.
For example, take an example of a project such as building a software. In this project if we are not monitoring the progress of the project we may digress from our project path and end up adding additional delay in completiton of the project because of lack of appropriate monitoring and evaluation of the project. This is why it is essential to measure the progress of the project and have constant monitoring mechanism to measure the effect of the porject on its progress.
