Indicate which statements are true or false
Only very small objects have an associated wave function.
Electrons show interference effects like waves.
The quantization of frequencies is specific to quantum physics.
Light can display particle properties,
Quantum effects are only visible at microscopic scales.
a) false
Every particle has a wave associated with it; each particle actually exhibits wavelike behavior. The particle is most likely to be found in those places where the undulations of the wave are greatest, or most intense. The more intense the undulations of the associated wave become, however, the more ill defined becomes the wavelength, which in turn determines the momentum of the particle.
b) True
The second seems true to me. Electrons will behave like waves in double slit experiments, showing an interference pattern, but when you try to 'detect' them, you cause them to recoil and pickup their particle properties.
c) true
If frequency is quantized, then so it time. Time is most likely not quantized, it seems to be an emergent property.
d) true
it was true, but now they've shown it: Scientists have demonstrated that the uncertainty principle, one of the most famous rules of quantum physics, operates in macroscopic objects visible to the naked eye.
