Thought processes of individuals play a vital role in the belief formation which further influences the behaviour patterns of human beings. After an individual has satisfied their physiological needs, there are a set of requirements that need to be fulfilled for an individual to experience complete satisfaction of needs, these needs may vary to a large extent which can range from security and love to self esteem and self worth. Since thought processes are the reason behind influencing behaviour patterns it is thoughtful that the counselling techniques which involve manipulation of the thought process in order to achieve desirable behaviour would be the best to deal with therapeutic requirements for needs of an individual.

Individuals are prone to forming irrational believes that may lead them to get involved in behaviour which reflects problematic areas of the cognitive realm which means that it when we try to omit the irrational beliefs of an individual and replace them with rational believes they are themselves able to facilitate in bringing upon a change in their behaviour which is the main goal of psychological counselling anyway. the counselling which involves efforts to bring about a change in thought process are very transparent in nature and help in building a healthy relationship with the client which is also ethical in nature and thus is one of the most convenient forms of therapeutic counselling.

Hope this helps; please like for efforts.
