Nurse should undertstand concepts like cultural awareness, cultural competence, cultural sensitivity.

Nurse should ask several questions to the clients about their personal, environmental and relugious needs. Nurse should also ask questions with compassion and clarity to all related coworkers about their cultural and religious preferences.

Cross cultural communication like

Eyecontact is accepted in US. but not accepted and rude in some asian countries.

Touch is accepted as good therapeutic communication in US but not accepted in asiam countries. Hence nurse should explain to client on the reason if touch.

Silence in US is considered as rude and shows any misunderstanding. But silence means respect in few asian countries like Japan
