Vertical Formwork Design

Given: Design formwork for a 6-ft-high wall. The concrete is to be placed at a rate of 2 ft/hr and will not be vibrated. Concrete temperature is expected to be 50˚F. Use standard weight concrete, Type 1 cement, 3 in slump, with no admixtures. The maximum allowable deflection of bending members is to be 1/360 of the span. Use ¾ in Class I plyform for the sheathing with face-grain across the supports. Use 2x6 Hem-Fir No. 2 for the rest of the lumber and double-wales. Assume all bending members to be supported on three or more spans. Ties available for use have an allowable load of 5000 lb. Show all work.

Find: Design the formwork for this slab.

Solution: Show all your work.
