Researchers estimate that 1/3 of all retinoblastoma cases are hereditary, while the other 2/3 are sporadic (non-hereditary). It develops in early childhood. A couple has one child with bilateral retinoblastoma. The mother has no history of cancer, but the father had bilateral retinoblastoma as a child.   1. Explain the molecular basis of cancers that get inherited in families 2. Why are familial cases frequently bilateral (occurring in both eyes), while nonspecific cases are unilateral (occurring in one eye)? 3. What...

I have a question on redox reactions. When given certain metals for a redox reaction, how do I decide which element is reduced and which is oxidized? For example, one question I was given was: Write the balanced redox equation for the reaction between copper sulfate and zinc sulfate. How would I decide which is the oxidized metal and which is the reduced metal in this type of problem? I can identify the metals oxidized and reduced in a given...

Let's say I have two different reactions, each with their own unique rectant. In both rections, the concentration and recation contants are equal. The only differnce between the two reactions is the tempature of the system as in the first system the tempature is lower than that of the second. Can you determine from this infomation which reaction will have a larger activation energy barrier?
