1.Discuss how ecosystem structure/function and species richness/diversity are tied to one another in terms of structure and function determining diversity, and diversity determining structure and function. How might these effects be different at local compared to global scales?

The species richness/diversity forms the structural biotic part of the ecosystem without which the ecosystem cannot exist.Functionally biodiversity helps in maintaining a balance in the ecosystem ,like nutrition balance,energy transfer balance,recycling of molecules in the environment,which altogether makes the ecosystem a dynamic stable functional unit of life in the environment.The effects of diversity on ecosystem is explained in the above pictures.
