In your own words, write a short business report (400-500 words) about Alibaba Group business model?
Ans. Alibaba group was established in 1999 headed by Jack Ma and eighteen individuals. This group is a cluster of businesses which are solely based on internet and their goal is to give a simple path to purchase or sell globally. Currently this group has above 20000 workers and has above seventy workplace worldwide. Alibaba examined the wants of both the small and medium-sized enterprises in china. The group arranged the information of the enterprise so as to go into the business-to-business[B2B] e-market via giving them information services online in line with their diverse industries and features. Their core mission has been to make business easy for people around the world. By changing the way small businesses and enterpreneurs conduct business and giving consumers access to a broader selection of products and services, their various e-commerce properties are playing a leading role in creating jobs and grassroots economic opportunities in China and around the world and enriching the lives of millions of consumers. Group firmly believes in the theory that prior to resolving company problems you should work out on social issues first. Alibaba business model is more tilts towards mixture if western principles and Chinese values with more weight age. It encourages people with fresh blood, workers and front line mangers to choose the ways to operate the compny as it believe that there is no use of training people if you will not provide them opportunity. Alibab group has developed a robust orgnization culture which is based on a mutual mission, vision and value system as the foundation stone of Alibaba and its subordinates. Mission is To make easy to do business anywhere. Vision is To become the first platform of choice for sharing data and happy employees. Values is Customer first, employee second ans shareholder third. Traditional attitude from the basis of traditions, which acts as the attitude of management. When a new employee become a part of Alibab group, he or she concentrate on a broad orientation along with a team-building programe at the head office of the company in China. This program consists of a sound concentration on the mission, vision and values of the company. Brotherhood, goodness, guts, feelings, and ethics are part of Alibab's culture. As a result, company has been hoping to solve social issues, issues of innovation, as well as employment problem. The four Ps of the marketing strategies are among the factors that have contributed to the success of Alibaba are - Product/service: the service offered are such as online payments, listing solutions,instant messaging and after sale services. Pricing strategies: product line pricing, penetration pricing and discounts. Pramotion stratgies: pramotes its services through the use o internet, media advertising and sponsoring of events. Last but not least is the distribution strategy where by Alibaba uses the internet as its intermediary whereby it has several websites. Apart from Alibaba.com, the gorup has diversified its efforts with other e-commerce sites auch as Taobao.com,Alipay, Alimama, Alisoft and Yahoo Koubei. These web service expands the Alibaba groups business portfolio to include services like retail websites, and business management solutions, making it one of the largest and most comprehensive providers of internet retail and B2B services.
