Discuss the relationship of monitoring work and site remediation which are needed for groundwater flow as a transport of contaminants.
For vadose zone soil water budget, present a conclusion of the THREE (3) distinct processes in groundwater recharge.
Ans: Site remediation is nothing but Identification and hazard assessments if suspected contaminated sites with monitoringt the water flow direction. If the rain water is penetrates into the soil and it will become contaminants free water through filatration due to sand and mixed with ground water. This water flows due to gravity. If the site or location is contaminated with chemicals, wastes, etc Then it is necessary of monitoring the work. By the diverting the flow we can able to save the water from pollution with contaminants.
The ground water can be artificially recharged by different techniques they are Infiltration basins, Injection wells, Canals, Deep pits, etc. Of course water in vadose zone is less compared to capillary zone and saturated zone. Vadose zone also called as unsaturated zone where water may come trhough capillary fringe and make the soil wet.
So for better recharge of water, deep pits have dig upto vadose zone and infiltrate the water. The best technique to improve the ground water is 'Rain water harvesting'.
