On Wal-Mart and Health Care Policy case, what are the issues, interests, informations, alternative strategy and recommendations.
In the global world of corporate firm, The Wal-Mart firm is considered as the largest employer in the world. Being the pioneer American retail outlet company, Walmart has founded in 1962. Nearly 11,389 employees are working across 27 countries in the branches of Wal-Mart firm. In order to boost the sales as well as to retain no, 1 market position, the administrative machinery of this company has attracted its customers through introducing the policy of selling the branded products at the lower prices. Though it succeeded in the acquiring the first place in the business world but it not fulfilled the basic needs of the employees throughout the year. The Wal-Mart company has failed to provide the health care benefits to its employees. Due to this unfair practice, Wal-Mart and Health Care Policy case took place in the US nation. Let us discuss the issues, interest, information, alternative strategy and recommendations briefly.
The Management committee has done the research study on increase in its cost of maintenance. After doing research on marginal cost of the firm, they finally decided to stop the health insurance facilities providing to the employees who work below 30 hours/per week if the ability of their work is under judged by the immediate supervisors. Sudden stoppage of the health care benefits to the part-time employees really effected their economic life.
In the next stage many labor expert team and the social activists fought against the evil of poor policy of health care adopted by this company. The children of the employees of the Wal-mart are treated under the medicaid insurance of the US Government health policy of General Insurance Act. But not all treatment are covered under medicaid insurance.
The executive committee of the company defended the action by stating the data of 1.3 million low-salaried employees of all other companies also facing the same issue of covering insurance. Then Affordable Care Act covered the issues facing by the employees. Already many cases was filed by the employees and other activists against the discrimination on the grounds of the religion, race and creed, etc. Affordable Care Act provides the provision to all level of employees to cover all types of medical insurance for all the treatments. So this will solve the issue to all employees of all companies to little extent.
