Why would a country engage in pollution exporting ... or pollution importing, and what are some of the outcomes of both, positive and negative? At what point does a country stop engaging in pollution importing?
When a pollution importer begins to move away from the industry, how might people in the
exporting country be impacted?
Developed Country's are involved in the international trade when the intensity of pollution is higher in the particular country they transport their waste to developing countries foe their treatment, disposal or recycling while the developing countries purchase wastes at low rate and they recycle it for the further use. Often developing countries are targeted by the trade liberalization. Positive impact of pollution exporting and importing are as follows - as the waste are been purchased by developing countries from developed countries this reduces the global consequences in developed area while developing countries would recycle it and further they could use to increase its economic growth indirectly. They have a significant role in trade liberalization. Positive outcome of exporting pollution it ensures opportunities for recycling are increased, maximizing environmental benefit. Positive outcome of importing pollution is individuals may be able to reuse materials and equipment in their own business or other organization may be able to use it again for example water paper can be used as note paper.
Negative outcome of exporting pollution is it requires more workers, time and effort to get employees and management. While negative outcome of importing pollution is it affects the quality of recycling collection which can increase the cost of treatment and takes huge effort and time to remove contamination.
A country should stop engaging in pollution importing as it has a huge global consequences on its area and cost of treatment and recycling is high. Imported waste affects the quality of the soil where is decomposed.
If a pollution importer begins to move away from the industry the country which is exporting will suffer from global consequences of pollution the air, soil and water quality will be affected.
