Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer:

  1. Conversion inches to mm –

1 inch = 25.4 mm

So, 1.3 inches = 25.4 * 1.3

                       = 33.02 mm

= 33 mm (in two significant figures)

  1. Conversion ft to cm –

1 ft = 30.48 cm

So, 115 ft = 115 * 30.48

                  = 3505.20 cm

                  = 3.50 x 103 cm (in three significant figures)

  1. Conversion kg to lb –

1 kg = 2.205 lb

So, 1740 kg = 1740 * 2.205

                  = 3836.70 lb

= 3836 lb (in four significant figures)

  1. Conversion yd to km –

1yd = 1/1094 km

So, 835 yd = 835 / 1094

                                    = 0.7635 km

= 0.763 km (in three significant figures)
