How to see the volume(sell and buy) of stock in Yahoofinance?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Volume is the number of contracts that are traded during a particular time frame, where each trade includes a buyer and a seller. So basically, if I am buying 400 shares, for which you are selling 400 shares, the total volume that we have created in the market is 400, (Note: some would wronly interpet the total volume being 800)

So, the Volume figure available on yahoo finance in the historical data segment is the cumulative volume data.

In the charts, the volume indicator is denoted by two colors, namely, red and green, with green denoting that the corresponding price candle close is higher than the previous price candle close while the volume candle is Red when the corresponding price candle close is lower than the previous price candle close.

I believe that the data that you're looking for is buying volume and selling volume, which is not available on Yahoo finance or is available on freely available online databases(as far as I know). Look for the databases which provide the Bid volume and Ask volume, which can be used to distinguish between the buy trades and sell trades.
