How can you align people from different backgrounds, including different experiences, different definitions of morality/ethics, and different levels of commitment to the company to your company's overall goals and values?
What strategies would you use to bring together people from a variety of backgrounds to work on a common goal? (This might include differences in age, gender, race, sexual orientation, family origin, place of origin [i.e., urban/rural], or other differences.)
Describe how you will get alignment within your work team considering all of the different potential drivers and definitions of success. How will you actively seek to understand where people are in their mindset and how will you keep them on track?
Consider that a company's values should define how the collective 'we' operates within the company and that in order to be truly great, a company must have everyone on the same page. Be sure to include specific examples with evidence from the reading or from our outside research.
1. Alignment of people with different value system can be done
a. Creating an induction programme after hiring process to get them equipped with the value system of the company. Like one organization I know had LIRIEL principles:Leading change; Respect for individual; Integrity; Excellence; Learning and sharing.
b. Creating awareness among the employees of the values
c. Conducting activities to implement them
d. Workshops to enhance their capabilities to adapt the company value system.
2. Strategies would i use to bring together people from a variety of backgrounds to work on a common goal:
a. Equality practice implementation both at the workers level and the management level.
b. Creating workshops to keep them organised of the company value system.
c. Incase of any violation of the principles, strict actions to be against the defaulters.
d. Induction programme is essential to bring the employees to organization's value system.
3. Getting alignment within your work team considering all of the different potential drivers and definitions of success through following:
a. Reminding the project's goal on regular basis time to time.
b. In case of any achivement, celebrating together should be a habit. This will enhance better communication and comfortability.
c. Helping each other is also essential within the team.
4.H you actively seek to understand where people are in their mindset and how will you keep them on track by following:
a. Consistent communication with employees to know their perspectives about topics from varied subjects
b. Letting them know if there are any existing misconceptions about person, work etc.
c. Reminding them of company objectives and the project goals and its timely delivery.
d. Conducting workshops to help them understand how important it is to remain professional and company loyal and productive.
