Introduction-

This machine was invented in very early age. It is very old machine in early age it used to pick up bucket of water from well. After that it convert into generator.

Water wheel generator is a machine which covert the water flowing or falling energy into electrical energy. It consists of two main part one is a large diameter wheel and a alternator (depend on how much voltage you want to generate/ rating of your output) . The wheel consist of a number of paddle which help to rotate the wheel. The wheel are made by wood or may be metal. When the water is fall on the wheel or flowing through the we wheel than the wheel start to rotating ( generally the speed of wheel 5-8 rpm) and the wheel is conected to the alternator by belt. Due to rotating of wheel alternator start to rotating and produce voltage. The efficiency of water wheel generator varies from 75% to 85% depend on the type of water wheel. There are three types of water wheel one is overshoot waterwheel( depend on falling of water from height), 2nd is undershoot water wheel( depend on flow of water), breastshoot water wheel( special type construction).

Now a days due to clean energy and sustainable electricity production, water wheel generator or hydropower plays a central role in satisfying the energy demand.
