Problem 6.21
A 5000kg truck is parked on a 12? slope.
Part A
How big is the friction force on the truck? The coefficient of static friction between the tires and the road is 0.90.
Force along the slope = mg sin ?
= 5000* 9.8* sin 12
= 10187.6 N
Frictional force = ? N = ? mg cos ? = 0.9 *5000*9.8*cos 12
= 43136 N
Frictional force is never greater than action force
So, frictanal force = 10187.6 N
