Job Characteristics model deals with 3 different stages in a job of a person with the organization. These three stages are core job characteristics, psychological states and outcomes. These are the three different stages that have underlying factors that help in determining the success/failure of these stages for an employee hence determining the job satisfaction of the employee. Hence, This is the essense of job characteristics model and how it can be used to detrmine the job satisfaction of the employees.
My score from the job satisfaction survey was average. My score indicated that there were certain elements of my job charateristic model in which I did not fulfill a lot and hence as a manager I would focus on imprivement in such elements and ensuring I am able to fulfill my weanesses and issues to improve my job satisfaction from the job. This is the logical step to take if I were the manager and was asked to judge the average job satisfaction score of an employee.
Hence, this is the essense of job satisfaction model and how it can be used to determine the elements associated with the job satisfaction or dis-satisfaction of employee with her job.
