Project Dashboard-----

Project Dashboard gives exceptional insight into project's status.

-It gives idea how the projects are doing right now?

-Which tasks are delayed and which are ahead of schedule?

-Which resources are falling behind and which resources are enough in availability?

Without the dashboard we won't be able to answer the above said questions?

Creating a project Dashboard is not easy.We will have to first identify the right metrics. Then we need to combine them in a way that must be accurate, relevant and easy to understand.

As per my view, the core ingredients of a successful dashboard are-:

- Collection of metrics and it should be easily arranged so that it is easy to highlighted and grasping.

- Data should be updated either in real time or at fixed interval.

- Good dashboard should be visual friendly. Huge collection of data should be systemically shown in charts , tables and graphs. Trends and movements should me highlighted with colours. Red colour should be used for dropping and green colour for growth so that it could explain the movement of metrics.

- Project Dashboard should be relevant for its user. We can not show the same dashboard to CEO and Project manager. So we need to understand the importance of information for the different different user.

-Data used should be accurate. Accurate data would be helpful for taking the right decision at the right time. So data represented must be cross checked from different different sites.

- Every metrics should be updated time to time.

If we concentrate on above said points then it would be quite helpful for our superiors to select or reject projects for funding
